SNOW DAY?!!!

Yesterday, we got DUMPED on! We got over 12 inches overnight! It was a mess!!! Our school district hasn't had a Snow Day in years, but they decided to make it a half-day and let the parents decide whether or not to send their kids. We needed help to dig ourselves out of the driveway, so we kept them home! Ha ha ha! They pretty much spent the whole day out in the snow, either shoveling driveways in the neighborhood or digging trenches for snowball fights! They had a blast!

Sammy begged and begged me to help her build a snowman. So, when it became clear that she wasn't going to let up, I helped her build one. The snow was perfect for it!

Brendan absolutely LOVES to play in the snow. After about an hour of jumping in it and almost becoming an icesicle, he screamed when I brought him inside! I even tried to bribe him with cookies and watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (two of his favorite things) and it still didn't help! Oh, well, he's all boy I guess!

Christian's Gingerbread House

Christian's 4th grade class had an activity of building Gingerbread Houses last week. They invited parents to come and help. Unfortunately, they held it at the same time as Sammy's Kindergarten program and we weren't able to go:( Thankfully, Aunt Jacque came to the rescue and went to help Christian! He was really happy to have her come!

Their little house turned out pretty cute!

Sammy's Kindergarten Program

Sammy's Kindergarten program was last week. She was so funny about it! When she first learned that they were going to be doing a Christmas program she came running home and said "Mommy, it's so exciting! We get to sing in a program!" But as it got closer she started to say "I'm so nervous, Mommy!" It was so sweet! The program turned out so well! All of the kids were so adorable! I just wish I could put the video of it on here. Our computer just doesn't want to work with our video camera :( Oh, well. Here are a few pictures.

Fall Fun!

Yesterday, we went over to help the Grandparent's rake up the leaves in their back yard. We made a huge pile and the kids just couldn't resist the temptation to jump in them! They had so much fun, they almost forgot they were working!

Halloween 2010

We took the kids to the Main Street Trick-or-Treat parade again this year. It was a bit of a joke. The lines were terrible! It took us an hour and a half to walk less than 1/2 a mile! The only fun thing about it was that someone had fixed up an old truck to look like Mater. It was sooo cute! Brendan absolutely loved it! But he was a little upset that Lightning McQueen wasn't there. He kept asking "Where's Ka Chow, Mom?"

JR was Storm Shadow from GI Joe.
Brendan went as Buzz Lightyear. He was so adorable!
Sammy went as Little Red Riding Hood.
Christian was Snake Eyes from GI Joe.
We let the older kids carve pumpkins of their own this year. I was a little apprehensive about it, but they did a great job and didn't lose any fingers!
JR carved this one. He did an awesome job!
Sammy did this one. She had so much fun with it!
This one is Christian's. I'm still not exactly sure what it's supposed to be, but he had fun designing it!
I found this pattern on the internet. It turned out better than I expected!
JR drew this with a sharpy at school! He is turning out to be quite the little artist!
It's not really Halloween until we make some fun treats! Sammy helped me make these cute little cupcakes for our Ward Trunk-or-Treat. I love how she is always so eager to help!

3rd Grade Fiesta

Every year the 3rd Grade has an Artist in Residence program. This year they learned about Mexican folk dancing. Let me tell you, JR was less than thrilled that he had to dance in his program! Especially since he had to dance with a girl!!! I told him that he was just going to have to get used to it, because someday he is going to like girls. He just rolled his eyes at me! He is too funny!

"Wook, Mom! I'm Pitty!"

Oh, the joys of having a big sister! Brendan watches Sammy dress up all the time and has decided that he wants to do it to. He cracks us up!!!

The Corn Maize

We took the family to the Bluebell Corn Maize in September. The weather was beautiful and the kids had a blast!

Homework

Brendan loves to do EVERYTHING his brothers and sister do. So, when they started coming home from school with homework, he just had to join in! He is so funny!

Raingutter Regata

The boys' Pack Meeting in August was the Raingutter Regata. They had a blast building and painting their boats! It's just too bad that it was so windy that day. They had a hard time keeping their boats from tipping over. It didn't seem to upset them though!
